  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots of espresso (or 1/2 cup of very strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup oat milk (extra creamy works best)
  • 2 tablespoons apple brown sugar syrup (recipe below or store-bought)
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon for garnish
  • Optional: A drizzle of caramel or apple butter for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Apple Syrup If you are making your own syrup, simmer equal parts apple juice and brown sugar with a cinnamon stick in a small saucepan over medium heat. Let it reduce for about 5 minutes until it becomes slightly syrupy. Allow it to cool completely before using.
  2. Step 2: Sweeten the Base In a tall glass, add the apple brown sugar syrup. If you like a more intense apple flavor, you can swirl a bit of apple butter around the inside of the glass before adding the syrup.
  3. Step 3: Add Ice and Milk Fill the glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes. Pour the oat milk over the ice and syrup, leaving about an inch of space at the top of the glass for your coffee.
  4. Step 4: Add the Coffee Layer Slowly pour your two shots of espresso (or strong coffee) directly over the center of the milk. The density difference will cause the coffee to sit on top of the milk, creating the signature macchiato layers.
  5. Step 5: Garnish and Serve Finish the drink by sprinkling a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg on top. You can also add a light drizzle of caramel sauce if you want an extra indulgent treat. Give it a gentle stir before drinking to combine the flavors.
