  • Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (29 oz) cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is heating, grab a 9×13-inch baking dish. You do not necessarily need to grease the dish because of the butter in the recipe, but a light coating of cooking spray can help with cleanup later.
  2. Pour both cans of sliced peaches, including the heavy syrup, directly into the bottom of the baking dish. Spread them out so they cover the surface evenly. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the peaches to add a warm, spiced flavor to the fruit base.
  3. Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the dry powder evenly over the top of the peaches. Use a spoon or your hands to make sure there are no large clumps and that the cake mix covers the fruit completely. Do not stir the layers together.
  4. Slowly and evenly pour the melted butter over the entire surface of the dry cake mix. Try to cover as much of the powder as possible. The butter will react with the cake mix and the peach syrup during baking to create that signature cobbler crust.
  5. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes. You will know it is done when the top is a beautiful golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling up around the edges. Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes before serving to let the juices thicken.
